The most common complaint I hear from marketing teams in software companies: “We found out about the feature the week it shipped.” The most common complaint from product teams: “Marketing described it wrong.” Both are true, and both come from the same gap.
The fix is structural, not motivational. Put marketing in the room when the problem is being defined, not when the solution is being demoed.
The best launch copy is written from the problem statement, not the release notes.
When marketing hears the customer pain in the same words product heard it, the story writes itself — and it arrives on time.
