HealthTech adoption starts at the records room, not the boardroom

Hospital leadership signs the contract. The records officer decides whether the system actually gets used.

The board approves the digital health platform. The CMD announces it. Six months later, the paper folders are still stacked in the records room and the new system is used for two tasks out of twenty.

Adoption is decided by the people whose daily routine changes the most. In a hospital, that is the records staff, the nurses at triage, and the billing desk.

Market to the user who has to change, not only the buyer who has to sign.

Marketing for health software should include those people from the start: training materials in plain language, visible quick wins, and recognition for the teams who move first.
